If by some miracle you haven't heard about it yet, Stacy spent the summer in Gagliano Aterno, Italy, studying Italian and translating the poetry of Giovanna Bemporad, a "well-known Italian scholar and poet," says Stac, "whose own work has not (besides my translations) seen the English language."
Well, lah-tee-freakin'-da.
Anyway, Stac was there basically from mid-June through mid-August (by some strange coincidence she managed to get outa town right before my birthday), and I visited for a little over a week in July, just in time to provide her with some brief respite from the vitamin-deficient pasta diet she was getting as part of her $200/week room and board.
