One day, Stac and I decided to go visit a winery. Unfortunately it was a Saturday, and we were driving in a remote region of Italy. Oh, and we didn't get out of bed till about noon. Out of the five or so that were recommended to us, we only managed to find one, Pietrantonj (the "j" sounds like an "i"...I'll let you sound out the rest...), which turned out to be open on Saturdays until about the time we were getting out of bed. Still, the drive--which, complete with dead ends, detours, lazy stops to wander random cities, near train collisions, wrong turns, and about $10 in tolls for use of the Autostrada, ended up lasting about 5 hours--was beautiful.

Eureka! Pietrantonj winery!

What the #*&$#@?

Tocco da Casauria--the castle

Tocco da Casauria--the view

Tocco da Casauria--the local hooligans

Tocco da Cassauria--a random door

The perfect end to a perfect day (we found the wine at a local alimentare)!
