Alas, 2001 marked the 10th anniversary of the "RV" Halloween party (though it was more of an "RS" party since I haven't been actively involved in the planning or execution since 1994)--and the final one, at least so far. Over the course of its 10 year history, this infamous event has been responsible for at least one birth (not at the party, but exactly 9 months later...), at least one marriage, probably dozens of relationships (lasting anywhere from, uh, a couple hours to years) and breakups, the Plano premier of the Carsons rock band, an impromptu jam session by the renowned Dallas metal/country/folk/pop/new wave trio Burning Sensation Mark II, the coming out of two beautiful drag queens, the reincarnations of FDR and Al Capone, 10 profit spikes for Plano-area liquor stores, and J.J. Ecker's memorable first use of the line, "So, what was your major again?"
And all this, amazingly, without a single fight or visit by the local authorities.
I have to stop now, I'm getting verclempt.
