As with everything else, with the drink I tend to go through phases. Wine is my most recent and longest-lasting phase. I believe this is because wine goes well with food, and I love food, as you may have heard.
I started--somewhat hesitantly--on the grape a little over ten years ago. Okay, actually I should say I started back when my friend Tom Waldron and I used to sneak shots of Cribari out of the jugs his parents kept in the basement, replacing them with water.
Anyway, my serious introduction to the stuff came at a tasting at Tony's Wine Warehouse in Dallas. Since then I've been hooked, not only on drinking the stuff but on visiting wineries just about anywhere I can find them.
